Dr Damian Howard SJ is an English Jesuit priest. He has been a lecturer at Heythrop College since September 2010. He studied theology at Trinity College, Cambridge, philosophy at the London School of Economics, and more theology at the Centre Sèvres in Paris. He went on to read Islamic studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies of the University of London, before gaining his doctorate in contemporary Islamic thought from the University of Birmingham. He has contributed to the work of the Holy See in Interreligious Dialogue and is a regular speaker and broadcaster. He writes for and is on the editorial committee of the British Jesuit on-line journal, Thinking Faith. He lives in Wapping in the East End of London, where he is superior of a Jesuit house of formation and a member of the Hurtado Jesuit Centre.
