July 18, 2024 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Prof. John Wyatt, Revd Dr Joanna Collicutt

In Mark 6, Jesus tried to take the disciples away. He was recently bereaved, and they needed to rest. But, as often happened in his ministry, they were besieged by people seeking help. He preached to the crowd, then sought solitude again. This is the dilemma we all face: we have our own personal struggles, losses and needs. The grieving process can’t be bypassed but, because we are usually surrounded by others who need us, we have to prayerfully balance our own and other’s needs. Responding to crises may well traumatise us too, but this is where the Church is needed. How can we encourage each other to demonstrate Christ’s compassion to both his disciples and the people who sought their help?

Come and be encouraged, inspired and equipped at our monthly zoom catchup for the Faraday Churches community.

We’ll discuss this month’s new Biblically-based resource (available to paid subscribers on the Patreon platform) with our two special guests:

  • 12.30-1.30pm, with neonatologist  Prof John Wyatt, a paediatrician, ethicist, author and speaker
  • 7.30-8.30pm, with Revd Canon Dr Joanna Collicutt, a clinical psychologist, theologian and Anglican Priest

There will also be time to share news and ideas.

Sign up on Patreon (£5/month subscription, plus VAT) to receive the zoom details.

The event is being run twice to allow for different schedules.
